GREAT DAY TO BE A BLAZER! Beat Nuggets in OT 107-106

Today, we all evidenced the Roy that we have known for the past 2 years.

LaMarcus Aldridge had 24 points and 14 rebounds, Brandon Roy hit the tying 3-pointer with 5.8 seconds left in regulation, and the short-handed Portland Trail Blazers beat the Denver Nuggets 107-106 in overtime on Friday night.

Roy added 18 points in just his second game since coming back from arthroscopic surgery on both knees. He was supposed to be limited to 15 minutes but played 25, as new acquisition Gerald Wallace was not yet available.

- AP

I watched this game on ESPN, and by the end of the 3rd, I thought the game was over. The Blazers weren't hitting shots and the Nuggets just kept getting to the line. I actually never expected Gallinari to play that well.

But I kept watching. That's what makes Portland fans different to any other fan. I remember myself watching games to the very end when the Blazers are down by 20. And today, it paid off, as the last 2 minutes of the 4th were amazing. When down by 6, Roy hit a three pointer off Miller's dish with 30 seconds. After one free throw made by Afflalo, Rudy his another clutch three from the corner with 10 seconds left. Gallinari then missed one and made one free throw, giving the Blazers a chance to tie the game.

Then we saw the shot that Roy had made a countless amount of times. With 5 seconds left. Roy shot a 27 footer over Felton and tied the game. The OT was full of exhilaration, and it was the Portland defense that won the game.

The Blazers are now 6th in the Western Conference. Their next game is against the Atlanta Hawks, and hopefully Camby and Wallace will step on the court. The next few games are very winnable ones, so hopefully the Ripcity squad will take control and make the playoffs

GO BLAZERS and WELCOME BACK B-ROY!!!!

Patty Mills

Improved a lot this year! Hopefully we can see him on the court more this year

Gerald Wallace aka G-Force takin his talents to RIPCITY!!!

The man nicknamed “Crash” is headed to the Trail Blazers.

Gerald Wallace, a former All-Star and All-Defensive team player, has been traded by Charlotte to the Blazers for veteran center Joel Przybilla, second-year forward Dante Cunningham, journeyman center Sean Marks and two future first-round picks.

- Oregonian

Gerald Wallace will hopefully add on to the defense for Portland, who only allows 95 points a game (7th in league). GM Rich Cho states that Gerald Wallace will be another key defender that will be guarding the opponent's allstars. This allows Nicholas Batum to guard another key player. For example when the Blazers play the Hornets, Wallace can guard David West/Trevor Ariza, allowing Batum to guard Chris Paul.

I'm very excited to see Gerald Wallace in a Portland jersey. His athleticism is perfect for this year's team. The Blazers now need to shop for a backup point guard and a big man.

I would just like to thank Pryz, Sean Marks and Dante for their hustle out on the court. They helped the injury plagued team and was key in several games. I wish them luck in their future as a Bobcat (sucks doesnt it?)

Blazers play the Denver Nuggets tomorrow! Should be a great game but Portland needs to take this victory home!

GO BLAZERS!

Blazers lose to Lakers in Roy's comeback

PORTLAND, Ore. -- After overcoming a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter, Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol had a little talk about how the Lakers were going to put the Trail Blazers away in overtime.

Gasol's job was to be aggressive at the start, before Bryant put it away in the end. And that's exactly what happened.

Bryant scored 37 points and Los Angeles stopped Portland's season-best, six-game winning streak with a 106-101 victory Wednesday night.

LaMarcus Aldridge had 29 points and 14 rebounds for the Blazers but didn't hit a shot in the fourth quarter and missed two key free throws in the extra period.

-ESPN

Brandon Roy also made his comeback today, playing for the first time since Dec. 15 of 2010. He looked very good considering the surgeries he had on both knees. He had 5 points in 16 minutes and I liked the fact that Nate was able to keep him on the bench in such a close game. Hopefully these minutes will increase since we all know that he can make Portland happy.

The Blazers take on the rearranged Denver Nuggets this Friday. Its going to be a great one out in Portland. This game is going to be very key for the Blazers, because if the Nuggets lose to the C's, they will be tied for 6th place in the Western Conference. The Blazers need to continue winning and not get on losing streaks, as the race is coming close and there is no time to relax.

WOW! Blazers WIn Again!! Beat Hornets 103-96

PORTLAND, Ore. -- LaMarcus Aldridge sheepishly admits that he paced himself in the third quarter against the Hornets so he'd be primed for the fourth.

Although he said he probably shouldn't have revealed the plan, it worked. Aldridge had 12 of his 34 points in the fourth to lead Portland's rally to a 103-96 victory over New Orleans on Wednesday night.

"I was just trying to make it to the fourth with some energy left," he said.

It was a season-high sixth straight win for the Blazers, who head into the All-Star break in fifth place in the Western Conference standings and a season-best eight games over .500 -- despite injuries to three-time All-Star Brandon Roy and veteran center Marcus Camby.

- ESPN

Well the Blazers are now 32-24. This is actually very close to the records the Blazers had in the past two years before the allstar. So all the injuries and all the additions to the roster, the team is still solid.

First game after the break is at the Rose Garden against the LA Lakers. They may be slumping, but we know who LA is and they are not going to back down

The Blazers play 4 more games at home. They are all winnable games, and the Blazers need to take advantage of the home court before heading out for 2 tough road trips in the Northwest and in Texas/Arizona.

Greatest Blazers Mix

PTB Opening Day Introduction

This gets every fan in Portland pumped UP

Blazers Win! Blazers Win! Five in a Row and up to the 6th Spot in the West! Oh Yeahhh

MINNEAPOLIS -- Making his first All-Star team has put a big ol' target on Kevin Love's back.

A motivated LaMarcus Aldridge and the Portland Trail Blazers were hitting it hard all night long.

Aldridge had 21 points, six boards and five assists and the Blazers stifled Love on both ends of the court in a 95-81 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday night.

Wesley Matthews scored 23 points and Dante Cunningham had career highs with 18 points and 13 rebounds for the Blazers, who were out to show that their guy Aldridge should be going to Los Angeles instead of Love.

The Blazers have now won 16 straight games against the Timberwolves and five in a row overall, their longest winning streak of the season.

So did Kevin Love deserve the allstar? 30-30 was amazing, but the 13-42 Timberwolves are not. Blazers are now 31-24 without Roy, Camby and Oden. What can I say? Aldridge definitely deserved a spot.

Ray Allen- Where "Trey Goggles" is His Life

Shoutout to my Man C-Bellis!!! Enjoy!

Blazer game of the Month- December

After a tough loss at Golden State on Christmas Day, the Trail Blazers stepped it up, beating the Jazz at Salt Lake City.

Ripcity takes down Motown and the Pistons, 105-100.

After this moment, any NBA analyst, coach, player or fan would say "Why isn't LaMarcus Aldridge in the All-Star?"

All-Star snub LaMarcus Aldridge scored 36 points, leading the Portland Trail Blazers to their fourth straight win, 105-100 over the Pistons. "The difference in this game was Aldridge, Aldridge and Aldridge," Pistons coach John Kuester said. "When they needed something else, they ran a play for LaMarcus Aldridge."

Aldridge went 12 of 17 from the floor and hit all but one of his 13 free-throw attempts. "I think he's an All-Star," said Wesley Matthews, who added 24 points for Portland. "He's an All-Star 10 times out of 10. He makes shots. That's what he does." - ESPN

I feel like the Allstar selection is a joke. The system used to be based on simply talent and personal statistics. But recently, many coaches have considered how the team was doing, and if they were competing for a playoff spot or not.

Although Tim Duncan's stats have dropped, he is still has the allstar caliber and is a leader for a team that has 9 losses. I can accept him being there (even though watching him play is ridiculously boring).

But now we see Blake Griffin and Kevin Love taking their talents to the City of Angels. Yes seeing them play may be fun but what happened to considering the teams? The Timberwolves just suck and the Clippers are far from making the playoffs this year.

LaMarcus Aldridge has averaged 25 pts and 10 rebounds after Roy's injury and the Blazers are now 29-24 with majority of the team's starters injured. I mean, I don't get it.

Well all that matters is that the Blazers are on a roll. Roy and Camby seem to be coming back soon, hopefully before Portland plays the Lakers at the "Big Orange" (what a joke).

well thats it. See ya Later

No Roy, No Camby, No Problem

Behind LaMarcus Aldridge's 37 pts and 10 boards and Rudy Fernandez's 23 point first half, the Blazers take home another big road win against the Raptors, beating them 102-96.

Coming off a career-high 42 points in Monday's win over Chicago, Aldridge shot 14 for 25 and grabbed 10 rebounds. He went 9 for 12 from the free throw line. Andre Miller had 13 points and eight assists for the Trail Blazers, who have won 10 of 13.

Fernandez made his first eight shot attempts, six of them 3-pointers, before missing for the first time, coming up short from beyond the arc with 1:33 left in the third quarter.

The Blazers take on the Pistons Sunday night. Roy and Camby are likely to stick on the bench again but with the others producing, things should work out.

Blazers getting lucky. Beat Bulls 109-103 and Roy/Camby return set for this Saturday

LaMarcus Aldridge scored so easily against Chicago that he allowed himself a broad smile and a few high-fives from teammates before the game was even over.

"It was fun," he said after putting up a career-high 42 points Monday night in the Portland Trail Blazers' 109-103 victory over the Bulls.

So was there a little I-told-you-so feeling after not being selected for the All-Star game? No, Aldridge insisted.

Blazers hand Cavs NBA record 24th losing streak of season

CLEVELAND -- The Cavaliers have the NBA's record for futility all to themselves.

Cleveland's losing streak reached 24 games on Saturday night as Wesley Matthews scored 31 points and LaMarcus Aldridge added 20 to lead the Portland Trail Blazers to a 111-105 win over the pitiful Cavs, who remain winless in 2011 and have lost a mind-boggling 34 of 35.

Blazers improve to 27-24, and play the Bulls at the Rose Garden next. Need to get on a winning streak to keep playoff hopes alive. The Grizzlies do not deserve to be in the playoffs and so lets prove 'em that we do BLAZERS!

Blazers lose to Nuggets. Hit the Road for the Weekend

The Blazers did not play like they did against the Spurs, losing to the Denver Nuggets 109-90 at the Pepsi Center. Looking at past games at Denver, Portland does not seem to play very well and so this loss is a loss that I can take. However, the Grizzlies are only 0.5 games behind the Blazers at 9th. This weekend will hopefully get them out of the playoff picture. The Blazers head out east to play the Indiana Pacers on Friday and the sluggish Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday. These games are very winnable games, and the Blazers need to take control to leave Memphis behind. The game after that would be at home against Derrick Rose and the Chicago Bulls.

And lets hope LaMarcus made the allstar team! He deserves it!

Aldridge had a career-high 40 points along with 11 rebounds to hand the Spurs just their eighth loss of the season.
