This guy is amazing..... Let me introduce you to.... Pooh AKA D.ROSE!!!

RIPCITY @ JAZZ

The Blazers will take on the Utah Jazz for the 2nd time this season. The Blazers first matchup was at the Rose Garden. Although the Blazers had a good start, CJ Miles hit 5 of 8 3 pointers in the 4th to give the Jazz another huge comeback victory.

The Blazers are without Roy, Pryzibilla and Oden and will try to fight hard for a victory at Utah, a place where they have won 1 out of 12 in the past.

RIPCITY RUMOR!!!

The Bobcats requested a trade to the Blazers!

The Blazers would ship Andre Miller and Marcus Camby and receive DJ Augustin, Gerald Wallace and DeSanga Diop. I like the idea but who would start at center? Pryz?

Blazers prevent 3 game skid. Beat T-Wolves, 107-102

Sorry to my readers. I have been busy with work and other things for the past few weeks.

The Blazers beat Beasley and the T-Wolves tonight at the Rose Garden 107-102 earlier today. Brandon Roy did not play tonight, and will be sidelined till Christmas Day against the Warriors. LaMarcus Aldridge scored a career high 37 points and Rudy Fernandez scored 26 points (huge for the Blazers).

The Blazers play the Warriors and then the Bucks at home. They need to capitalize on this 2 game homestand before heading out for Christmas @ Golden State. Camby and Batum injured their right arms today, and they are questionable for tomorrow (.....). Luke Babbitt may come back to the Blazers roster if the two players are out for awhile.

Blazers finally win! Beat Clippers 100-91

The Blazers finally got out of their 6 game losing streak, beating the LA Clippers today 100-91 at the Rose Garden. It seems like the slump for the Blazers is gone now just by looking at the score, but unfortunately, that isn't the case. The Blazers were up by 22 points in the first half, cruising 59-3. Then once again, things got extremely sloppy in the second half. Portland was outscored by 10 points in the 3rd quarter. The Blazers have been just HORRIBLE in the 3rd quarter these past few games but luckily, the 1st half lead was enough today.

The High man for the Trail Blazers was Wesley Matthews, who scored 26 points. Nicholas Batum was a spark of the bench, scoring 14 points and grabbing a career high 14 rebounds. Joel Pryzibilla played his first home game this year, and the Ripcity fans gave him a great standing ovation welcoming

The Blazers hit a tough streak of games, playing many Western Playoff Teams. Hopefully they can bounce back and bring back the winning percentage to .500.

Blazers fall to the Nets........ lose 3 in a row

The Blazers just can't buy a basket when it comes to the 4th quarter. The Blazers fell short to the New Jersey Nets Sunday, making their record 8-8. Once again, the Blazers looked very sharp at the half, but afterwards, things got ugly.

"We're at a tough point right now," said Brandon Roy, who finished with 21 points, four assists and four rebounds. "It's a young season. We've lost three games in a row and we're .500, so it's a difficult time. But we have to stick together and really see what we're made of."

The Blazers play the 76ers on Wednesday, then the Celtics on Saturday, and then the Wizards on Sunday. The Blazers NEED to take at least two of the three games in order to keep playoff hopes up. Rebounding and interior defense still seems to be a major problem, so we either pray that Pryzibilla plays as everyone expects (10 boards per game) or try to get another decent and young post player.

Blazers shooting slump continues as they lose 2 in a row at home

The Trail Blazers' offense has been terrible. They have not shot over 40% in the past 3 games and scoring an average of 85 points. Brandon Roy, who did not play for the last week, came back today and actually played well. He scored 27 points and added 4 assists, but this wasn't enough. The Blazers had a great start with 33 points, but ended up with 54 for the rest of the game. Defense wise, the Blazers have been holding opponents down. The only problem is that they can not make any shots they take. They even missed 2 dunks in today's game (Batum and Aldridge.

"We're not knocking down any shots, it's as simple as that," McMillan said.

Many Blazer fans, including myself, have been frustrated by the fact that the Blazers cannot win games against teams above .500. Yet we all have to realize that it is the beginning of the season. Roy is back in good shape and shots should fall as the season progresses.

The Blazers hit the road for 5 games in the East, and they should be able to pull off wins against 4 teams. It would be great to see the Blazers have a 4-1 record this road trip and head to the west, where they will play many of the Western playoff teams.

NBA vid of the day

Can't wait to see B-Roy come back. The Blazers need his explosiveness and leadership. Here is my favorite Brandon Roy mix.

New York Knicks- Starting to play as the Big Apple expected them to at the beginning of the season

The New York Knicks have not been this popular in ages. Their season tickets were sold out the day they came out, and fans were desperate to see the Knicks make the playoffs for the first time in 5+ years. They signed free agent superstar Amare Stoudemire and added key role players such as Ronnie Turiaf, Anthony Randolph and Raymond Felton. NY fans couldn't wait for the season to start, and it seemed like the Knicks were finally moving forward.

The Knicks had a fine start, with a 3-2 record (losing to the BLAZERS at the MSG). Yet suddenly, things got very sloppy after this. After losing to the 76ers at home, the Knicks went on a 6 game losing streak, where more than half of those teams were under .500. NY fans were very upset with the Knicks' performance and started to think that this year was going to be another 20 win season.

Maybe this is what made the Knicks players motivated. After losing to a hard fought game at Denver, the Knicks pulled off wins in 3 straight games in the West coast (Clippers, Kings and Warriors). They then won both games of the back-to-back against the Bobcats yesterday and today. Amare Stoudemire has been playing very consistantly during this win streak, but the key players were definitely Raymond Felton and Landry Fields. Landry Fields has been averaging close to a double-double during the 5 game span, and is playing like a veteran. He has been playing lock on defense on the scorers of opponents, and has held them to less than 20 points. Raymond Felton had two fantastic games against his former team, and was the "hero" that saved the Knicks late in the 4th quarter (clutch floaters and jumpshots in both games) for of the Bobcats games.

If the Knicks continue to play like they are right now, they are guaranteed a spot in the playoffs (possibly 6th seed). Not only would this be a huge improvement for the Knicks organization, but it will also set the fans of NYC on fire. I am a die hard Blazer fan, but I do want to see the Knicks come back and play like they did in the 90's. Continuing this success may also trigger Melo and CP3 to go to New York next year. If this happens, New York will have several championships in no time.

But still... Blazers > Knicks anyday.

LaMarcus Aldridge takes scoring role for the Roy-less Blazers

The injuries have been pilling up for the Portland Trail Blazers, and at this rate, it seems like allstar Brandorn Roy will not play in many of the games this year. Roy has averaged about 20 points per game throughout his career, acting as the first option and finisher of many close games for the Blazers. LaMarcus Aldridge, who usually plays behind Roy, is currently in his spot, and needs to step up his game to keep the Blazers in the playoffs. Aldridge is usually the guy that starts games very well, scoring 8-10 in the first quarter. But as the game progresses, the offense is based on B-Roy, and so Aldridge does not get as many shots in crunch time.

"LaMarcus now ... really becomes The Guy for us," McMillan said. "It's really hard to play without him being on the floor."

Without Roy, Aldridge is getting the ball almost all the time when he is on the court, as he is one of the few players that has been playing well consistently. He can shoot the outside jumper but also improved his inside game this year, making him a more dangerous force for opponents.

"I feel like I need to be that guy, a go-to guy, a guy we play through," Aldridge said. "After the playoffs last year, my whole motivation was to make myself better, to get ready for these moments and I think I'm doing good so far."

The Blazers do not have many games to play in the next few weeks, and so I am praying that Roy will be recovered by then. But for now, I would love to see Aldridge show his full potential and maybe score 20-25 points per game. This would be huge for the Blazers, and the 1-2 punch of Roy and the more confident Aldrige would be unstoppable.

Very irrelevant but for my locals in Yokohama. St.Maur Cougars first game @ Kinnick, Dec. 1st. The Yokohama Derby home game will be on Dec 7th

Brandon Roy questionable for Friday game vs. Hornets

Brandon Roy practiced on Monday at the Tualatin Training Facility, and looked pretty good. He scrimmaged a bit, worked on shooting and even participated in some contact drills. Yet his status for the next game against the hot Hornets is questionable. Roy says his knee still bugs him a bit, and so he wants to test his knee out in the following practices Tuesday - Thursday so that he can come back almost "fully recovered". “My biggest thing is I feel like I’m getting better, so that’s a positive thing for me,” Roy said. “I feel like I’m getting better. And that’s good because I’m trying to hurry up and get back on the court as soon as possible.”

Miami Heat- The Small Things Causing Poor Start

The Miami Heat were expected to win 70 games this year, but at this rate, they are going to be 4-5 wins above .500. Why are they so terrible when they have superstars LeBron James, Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh? Its the small things that are hurting them.

In order for the Miami Heat to succeed, it first needs to improve its team chemistry. I was watching the Indiana Pacers game today (lost by 16!! haha) on demand, and it is very clear that the Heat lack ball movement, causing shots with 1-2 seconds on the shot clock and careless turnovers. LeBron James still hasnt been able to adapt to the new offense, where the Cavs offense was all based on his play (one reason why the Cavs were much better). Chris Bosh has been increasing his points per game, but he still lacks the rebounds with only 7 per game.

The Miami Heat also need to add a decent inside player and PG. The Heat point guards are very inexperienced, and they seem completely lost when LeBron and Wade are with them. LeBron James "occasionally" takes the ball up, but the Heat need to find a PG that would help create better offense. "Z" or Ilgauskas is also not really a "center", as he also has about 6-7 rebounds per game. The Heat need a post player that can rebound 10-12 per game, and they should consider a rebounder such as Pryzibilla or Dampier that have no offense, but the rebounding ability.

The Heat are currently 8-6 (coincidently the same record as the injury-plagued Blazers), and need to step it up before the Miami citizens hate on them. I wish them luck (well, not really)
Heat suck

Monty Williams: Success after following McMillan's ways

Monty Williams, the current New Orleans Hornets coach has been very successful, leading the Hornets to a 11-1 start so far. He has brought the Portland Trail Blazers mind set of "Defense First" to New Orleans, and the Hornets have only allowed 92.2 points per game (3rd in the league). Monty Williams was the assistant coach for the Portland Trail Blazers under Nate McMillan until last year. The Blazers slow, set up offense is currently used by Monty Williams and the Hornets, which all-star Chris Paul likes. He has has found the new offense very comfortable for the team and says he is able to get his teammates more involved. The Blazers will host the Hornets Friday night (10:00 ET), and Monty Williams will come to Ripcity hoping for a victory. This game is a very critical game for the Blazers, as it is the last game at home before they head out for a 4 game road trip out east

Blazes vs Jazz

Blazers lose a tough game against CJ MIles and the Utah Jazz. CJ Miles hit 7 three pointers (3 of them lucky) in the game and scored 25 points. The Utah Jazz had a huge comeback, like in many other games and outscored the Blazers 38-20 in the 4th. The high man for the Blazers was LaMarcus Aldridge, who scored 24 points.

The Blazers get 5 days of rest before playing the red hot New Orleans Hornets Friday Night. The Blazers then head out east and will play 5 games, 4 against teams below .500. Blazers need to take advantage of this trip and improve their record, hopefully to 12-7 in the next 6 games (currently 8-6).

Good Job to the Blazers and hopefully we can take down the Hornets Friday night.

NBA RUMOR UPDATE!!!

The Raptors and the Hornets are discussing a trade that would send Peja Stojakovic and Jerryd Bayless for Jarret Jack, David Andersen and Marcus Banks. Would be a great trade for the Raptors because they want Calderon to play more minutes.

Jazz @ Blazers Preview

This is the first of four Blazer/Jazz matchups of this year. The Utah Jazz are playing back-to-back, losing to the Spurs earlier today (82-94). The Jazz are projected to start with their usual Starting 5, with Deron Williams, Raja Bell, Andrei Kirilenko, Paul Milsap and Al Jefferson.

The Portland Trail Blazers are coming of a victory over the Denver Nuggets on Thursday Night (86-83). Brandon Roy will once again miss today's game due to his sore right knee. The projected starting 5 is the same as the past few games, with Andre Miller at PG, Wesley Matthews at SG, Nicolas Batum at SF, LaMarcus Aldridge at PF and Marcus Camby at C. Wes Matthews will be playing his former team for the first time this year, and Im sure he is pumped up to win the game. He has averaged 25 pts in the past two games, where he has started for B-Roy.

Some rumors that popped out today...

1. Troy Murphy, who was traded in a 4-team deal to the New Jersey Nets this season, may be traded during this season. Troy Murphy has been struggling with injuries and his stats have declined compared to last year. He hasn't been getting the minutes he demands, and the Nets will look for teams that may want him on their team

2. The Boston Celtics' Delonte West, who has been suspended for the past games, will be playing against the OKC Thunder tomorrow (@ Boston from 7:00 ET). Delonte West quoted that he is very excited to return to Boston and is hoping that he can contribute to the team.

3. League sources have stated that Brandon Roy's days as an Allstar are potentially over, as his there is not much anyone can do about his knees. There is no more meniscus in his knee, and Roy may have to get surgery on his knee once again after the season.

Blazers vs Nuggets

Huge win for the Blazers tonight! Im glad Melo fouled out at the 2 minute mark. It was huge. If he was on, things would have been very different. Wes Matthews had another amazing game scoring 20 points and grabbing 10 boards. Andre and LaMarcus also contributed on both ends, and the Blazers now improve to 7-5 for the year (4-1 at home).

The Blazers play the Utah Jazz on Saturday night. This would also be a very important game for the Blazers before they host the "on-fire" Hornets and head out east for a 4 game road trip.

BLAZERS NEED A POST PLAYER!!!

With Greg Oden out for the season, Rich Cho and the Blazers HAVE to look for another post player. Marcus Camby has been putting up huge numbers, but with his age, the Blazers need a solid backup. Pryzbilla is coming back very soon (knee injury), but he is a restricted free-agent next year, and the Blazers would rather spend their money on a young post player.
If possible, I would go for Kevin Love of the Timberwolves or Roy Hibbert of the Pacers. Erick Dampier can be a short run solution, but I doubt the Blazers will sign that scrub.
